This schedule looks beyond horrible! This makes the weak spots on the schedules of CTV, Global, 'A', and E! look great.

Mondays
True Beauty looks like a mega flop, The Bachelor is still strong (well strong for Citytv anyway) mind you by march they will be back to Chuck and old movies Canwest didn't want.

Tuesdays
Primetime What Would You Do wont be on for very long anyways, so by march we will see some vh1 reality crap in it's spot, CTV dropped Scrubs for a reason, it's ratings suck. and Privileged is not doing good at all, should do even worse vs American Idol in pre-release

Wednesdays
I can't believe they are running a night of the untested 13 Fear is For Real, the extremely low rated Everybody Hates Chris, vh1's I Love Money, and then reruns of Friends? Even if the episodes of Nip/Tuck are new, it still can't save that night.

Thursdays
This really makes no sense to me. Hell's Kitchen is Citytv's #1 Show, so they do what? air it in POST-Release at 10? so they can simulcast a half hour of 30 Rock? atleast they have Ugly Betty although that is hitting series lows.

Fridays
This schedule just looks awful, Crusoe was cancelled, so what do they do? RE-AIR IT? then in March they re-air it TWICE a week? This may be because they may get some Canadian content credit since they paid for a small part of it or something, the other shows on the night do just as bad.

Sundays
More reruns of Friends, a show that ended years ago, and Two and a Half Men, a show that airs on your competition! What is with Citytv airing reruns of programming that aired on CTV! Law and Order SVU every weeknight, Without a Trace on Saturdays, and Two and a Half Men on Sundays.

It looks like The Secret Life of the American Teenager is gone for good from Citytv, which doesn't really make sence since I can't see how it could have done as bad as what they air now.

I'm going to assume Less Than Kind at 9:30 will be reruns right?

Hey, no dissing Festival Italiano di Johnny Lombardi

Now...
I'm envisioning even more Friends repeats despite what they've listed.
Maybe Rogers has learned from this year...maybe they'll bid more for the WB and FOX packages next year instead of plunging their cash into the wonderful fare provided by 51 Minds Entertainment, producers of such greats like Flava of Love, Rock of Love, I Love New York, I Love Money...

or we'll be treated to King of Queens repeats Thursday at 9pm against CSI and The Office next year.

I don't think that 30 Rock is going to make it back to City for next season...CTV will more than likely get it's hands back on it for next year's 'A' lineup.

Maybe they should just rename it OMNI 3, since they pretty much took everything Citytv was and killed it.

Although Citytv's schedule has never been great, it has never looked so desperate. the fact that they air so many reruns in prime slots make the station just look desperate. and it looks even worse when they are airing reruns of shows that have new episodes airing on their competition. you don't see CTV, Global, 'A', or E! airing syndicated programming in primetime.

There is plently of programming Rogers could provide Citytv with, they are just too cheap to do it. And they need to stop just picking up leftovers, look how well that worked out for them. Out of all the new shows Citytv picked up this year, the only one that didn't get cancelled was Privileged (which is only becasue it's airing on The CW). I wont count The Secret Life of the American Teenager since although it's ABC Family's most watched series ever, Citytv has dropped the rights. That's right they drop the rights to the one new american show that was a hit.

This just proves that Rogers doesn't know what it's doing. when Citytv was with CHUM they may have been weak, but they were not weak AND desperate.

That schedule is a joke, Rogers has destroyed this channel and clearly have no idea what they are doing. Where's Moses Znaimer when you need him, here's hoping he finds some investors and buys this network from Rogers. When he was running the show back in the day, Citytv was one of the best, if not the best independent channels out there. Perhaps he could turn it into Zoomer TV, a network aimed at baby boomers just like his radio stations and magazine?!

Rogers should stick with their multicultural channels, which they have done a decent job with. Perhaps with the passing of Ted we will see some downsizing of this behemoth which hopefully includes the sale of Citytv to someone who can do a better job than they are doing?!

Biggest mistake Rogers made IMO was removing movies from the schedule, which aired pretty much every night. Hardly any OTA networks air movies any more. BRING BACK GREAT MOVIES!!

Zoomer TV sounds like a good idea, it's about time Canada has those OTA retro television networks that they have in the US like RTN. I would guess if that happened, viewship of TV Land and DejaView would go down immediatly.

I don't see why Citytv can't utilize it's position in Rogers to team up for some shows based on the company's magazines. My preference would be to run them on the weekends in place of the scheduled reruns and Out There. When the news channel comes online then air them there also.

I don't think the schedule is all that bad really. I mean if you're comparing it to CTV or Global, then yeah it looks bad, but Citytv is not a CTV or Global, as much as they may want to be, they're not and they never will be in the current state of Canadian tv. And it's almost kind of heard to even compare them to A or E! either because they pick up their shows from CTV and Global. Citytv doesn't even have stations in Saskatchewan, Quebec or Atlantic Canada. Citytv is like The CW of Canada, the smaller, cheaper little guy.

And I go back to what I said in another post, a lot of these shows are new episodes coming from the big American networks, someone is going to air these, I guess it just happens to be Citytv. The Canadian networks are not just going to pass them by even though they may not bring in a million viewers. I'm just surprised they are not simulcasting everything they can, but then again I'm not really sure when some of these shows are airing on the US networks so...

They can obviously improve like remove these horrendous VH1 reality/game shows (if there is any network to go off the air anytime soon I hope for humanity's sake it's VH1, OK maybe I'm being a bit over dramatic but I just hate that stupid channel) and if they are going to air syndicated reruns, how about something they could at least simulcast with local US affiliates or PeachTree TV for example, they could pick up quality foreign cable programs to air (not reality crap from VH1) or here's an idea, maybe produce new episodes of something original?

And do we really know how the Secret Life of an American Teenager did on Citytv? It may be a big hit in the US, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's a hit here though.

I do agree Rogers and in part CTVgm's fault, has completely ruined the Citytv brand, but for what it's worth, I don't think it's schedule is a disaster.

If they could get American cable shows that are seldom seen up here like Damages, Sons of Anarchy, The Closer (sublicence it from CTV), It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, then Citytv might have a chance. If Rogers wants to give it a new brand, give them cutting edge dramas. The new Citytv could be something completely different from what it was and what it currently is.

At this rate, the Citytv brand will continue to falter and become worthless.

The Closer is not CTV's to give, it is owned by SuperChannel. They could buy second run of it from them tough, since Superchannel has like 20 subscribers, it would be first showing for most people.

I agree that this schedule could be worst. Showing repeat of movies all week like they used to do is not better for me than reruns of series.

I also think that since cable tv series in the US are getting bigger and bigger, they should grab as many of them as they can. They are cheaper and would bring in new viewers to the station.

Damages and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia belong to Canwest, so Citytv can't take those either.

I think they should try and grab the new cable series coming out, mind you if you read the article which is posted in the Citytv forum under "Playback Article: Rogers sucks at running Citytv" Rogers is quoted saying stuff like "we are not really looking for edgy" ect.., and they mention how they want to get more into reality.
